    In my previous article in September — Google Insider Reveals Leadership Lessons Learned — I talked about three positive steps that leaders can take to create a healthy culture of growth in their organizations: Leaders should stretch themselves, create conditions where creativity can thrive, and actively encourage excellence. Just as important as creating a positive environment, however, is avoiding a negative one. Toxic leaders can inflict serious harm on a unit or an entire organization and can undermine the good that more skillful leaders have done.
